Come and join us for an architectural tour of the Sacred Heart Church Roscommon, a gem of early twentieth-century arts and crafts employing a range of local and exotic materials all in a conservative Gothic frame. Hear how the Irish communities of England, USA and Argentina were petitioned to raise money for its construction and how local groups put their stamp on the fixtures of the interior. See how notions of Irish nationalism were woven into the visual narratives and how the fashionable saints of the day were depicted. Try and unravel its mysteries and spot its mistakes!
