10am - 6pm, Lamb Festival Marquee, The Square

The Lamb Festival marquee will host handcraft demonstrations and workshops including Debbie Zawinski (The Feral Spinner), from Wales and Cathy Fulton, master lace knitter from USA, along with spinners, weavers and knitters from Roscommon and other places in Ireland. Other hand craft demomstrations will include tinsmith, woodwork, basket-making, blacksmith and more.

Farmers' Market: A Taste of Roscommon


10am - 6pm, Craft Marquee, Market Square

Craft tent situated at the front of the BOI is reserved
for crafters from Co. Roscommon who are in business producing high quality craftwork of different kinds.

Kilteevan Tidy Towns Ecology Walk

10:45am - Kilteevan Community Center

Kilteevan Tidy Towns invites you to a relaxing nature experience through 5km of the Cloonlarge Loop Walk. The terrain is flat and easy but comfortable shoes and weather appropriate clothes are recommended. Walk will be guided by Ecologist David Fallon

Traditional handcraft demos & workshops


2pm, Áras an Chontae

This 7 hour practical workshop with master weavers Joan Baxter and John Brennan will take place over two days and is aimed at those with some experience of tapestry. Weavers will explore the colour green drawing inspiration from nature and historic tapestries.

Tapestry Symposium, Collaboration and Communication

10am - 2pm, Áras an Chontae

As part of International Fibre Art Festival 2018 we are delighted to offer an opportunity to meet with international textile artists during this Syposium titled Collaboration and Communication.

10.00 am Meet and Greet / Tea and Coffee.

Power point presentations and symposium with Joan Baxter, Internationally renowned Scottish artist. Anet Brusgaard, Director of the European Tapestry Forum, Denmark. Pascale De Coninck, owner of Dancing Threads studio Cork, and curator of the Timeline project. Line Dufour, founder and manager of FDSD. Other names to be confirmed. Q and A session.

1pm - 2pm light lunch of soup and sandwiches.

Workshop: Leather Design Workshop


1pm - 5pm, Christian Brothers School, Abbeytown, Roscommon

Join the Christian Brothers School as they celebrate their 80th anniversary of educating young men in Roscommon. All are welcome for refreshments and to tour the school from 1pm to 5pm. Address at 3pm by former principal, Brother Heffernan. Followed by vigil mass at 7pm at Sacred Heart Church to celebrate the Feast Day of Blessed Edmund Rice.

Pallet Upcycling Competition

11am - Drop off Competition Entries at Lamb Festival Marquee

Sponsored by Murray's Timber, this competition has a prize fund of €500, so get out those old pallets and put your tools to work! No prior year entries please. Judging will take place at 3pm at the Lamb Festival Marquee.
